“Focus on all things beautiful” Guidance when things feel turbulent

“Focus on all things beautiful”

We are moving through what can feel like a turbulent time of change and expansion in this lifetime. You may be feeling this now or have in the past. There are times when there is a lot of outside noise, or even internal mind noise that can make it feel like it’s hard to connect to your intuition, hear your guidance and feel peace.

So, what’s one thing you can do to feel more peace during these times?

“Focus on all things beautiful”

Direct your attention and fix your eyes on the beauty around you.  When we do this we have the ability to raise our vibration and fill our energetic tanks to help us through experiences that may feel really turbulent.

This guidance reminds me of a time I was in Hawaii. I was on a sunset dinner cruise off the island of Maui.  The water that night was especially rough, and the cruiser wasn’t very big.  As we floated away from land, I started to get nervous. I kept telling myself the water was going to settle as soon as we drifted out a bit further.

That is NOT what happened! It became so rough that we had to stay seated and hold on!

The energy on board the boat quickly shifted from a peaceful sunset to unease and fear.

I started to feel nauseous and remembered the tip I was given about finding a spot on the horizon and fixing my eyes on it.  (This helps with the seasick feeling.)

As I was intently staring, my eyes like lasers on the Maui hillside, I could hear all around me the sound of people rushing to the back of the boat, “losing their Mai Tais!”

I thought OMG this is awful!  I was thinking this is a disaster!  I was nervous, disappointed, angry and my body felt awful.

I felt completely helpless. There was nothing I could do but keep my eyes fixed on the horizon and surrender.

Eventually the Ocean settled enough, and I began to enjoy the evening.  The water remained rough, but I started to feel like there was a rhythm I could connect to.

Before all this happened, I had to dig deep within myself to fix my eyes and connect my energy to something that felt peaceful.  There comes a point where the only thing we can do is surrender to “what is” right now.  Finding this place of presence is the only place you can find your power of surrender.  To let go, to release the minds idea about what we think is right, what should happen, and the illusion of control we think we have over people, places, things and events.

Right now, you’re being invited, you might even say “tested” to find this space of surrender and peace within yourself. What can you do in this moment to help bring yourself to the present? What can you do for just one second to be able to reconnect and center?

Can you take some deep breaths?

Can you get outside and fix your eyes on the beauty of nature?

Can you connect to your body and feel your heartbeat?

Can you connect to something you are grateful for.  (Even if it’s as simple as this cup of coffee, my warm sweatshirt, etc.)

And you know I will always say……This is where having, developing and leaning into a Spiritual Practice will help you.

You may feel like you’re in a boat bouncing around completely helpless sometimes.

“Focus on all things beautiful”

Focusing on the chaos will only grow that feeling.  I have no doubt that if I would have focused my eyes on the people dangling over the edge getting sick I would have too!

The power within me to choose to focus my eyes is what helped me through.  YOU hold that POWER of choice inside of YOU.

One tip to focus on the hillside is what shifted everything.

One choice to follow it led to surrender.

One moment of surrender led to peace.

Peace led to a magical and very memorable cruise.

That night was nothing like I thought it would be!

This time, what ever you are going through is nothing like what your mind thinks it is.  It’s bigger, It’s purposeful, it’s magical, it’s a rebirth.
